All vibration deadening mats should be rolled with a roller, because pressing mats with your hand will not make them effective.
Squares/diamonds on deadening mats are made to identify whether the mat is rolled or not. This is a must have tool for every installer.

This roller has a bent metal arm in order to make job easier and your wrist will not be tired fast.
